"After several months of working with Los Angeles based jeweler Shayan Afshar on what began as a personal project of dedication, Levi Maestro developed something that he felt was undeniable. This design was created with the designers intention to communicate that when he gives his heart and word to something, then his energy, love, mind, and of course time become infinitely dedicated. Juxtaposing the materials of a translucent plastic band and a casing with a custom made 18k gold bezel completely emerged in gold resulted with very original & classic qualities."

Second Life

The jewelry of KVAST has such great detail and that amazing handmade feel. Case-and-point is the tape used to connect the item and loop is left on before being glazed.

"The 24 Carat Pets used to be second hand toys or collector's items, made from wood, plastic and porcelain. We collected them on fleamarkets, attics and in second hand shops and attached a loop to each of them - using different methods, such as tape, string and tie-wrap. A glaze of pure 24 carat gold holds the pendant and the loop together and transforms them into magnificent and unique pieces of jewelry."
